Content

The ‘indoor top-rope’ climbing certificate (KVB 1) is the first step for a sport climber and opens the way to a climbing and/or mountaineering career for many. During these lessons you will learn all the necessary techniques to safely practice indoor sport climbing. After 2 lessons, you will be able to obtain the KVB 1 certificate through an exam.

Purpose

During the 2 lessons you will learn to climb on an artificial climbing wall where the ropes hang at the top of the wall. This allows you to climb up safely in a ‘top-rope’ situation by means of a 2nd person securing you from below.

The focus is mainly on learning how to climb and belay tcorrectly and safely in a top-rope situation. Warm-up, cooldown, equipment knowledge, risk awareness and other climbing specific topics are also covered.

This course is a crash course for adults with (limited) experience who want to obtain the KVB1 certificate. Do you have no climbing experience? Then we rather recommend our  Start to Climb -course.
